Welcome to the Lincoln Electric Vehicle (EV) web site. I spent a few months researching electric vehicles, and their operation in the city of Lincoln, California. Before I forget what I've learned, I've decided to document it here. Hopefully you'll find this information useful.
It all started in the Fall of 2006. As my wife and I read more about the City's commitment to Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), we began to re-think our need for two "normal" cars. If we could save money, reduce pollution, and have more fun in the process, why not?
After a lot of research, and a little luck, we ended up purchasing a used 2002 GEM e825 (shown at right). We added Ride-4-Fun clear doors, and a clip-in stake bed from NEV Accessories. We use our GEM daily, and are having more fun (and saving more money) than we ever imagined.
You're probably thinking that NEVs are only for residents of the Sun City retirement community. While popular there, NEVs can legally operate anywhere in the city where the speed limit is 35 MPH or below. As residents of the Teal Hollow community, we can go almost anywhere in Lincoln in our four-passenger NEV.
Interested? Feel free to look around the site. Hopefully I'll answer most of your questions. If not, feel free to send me an email.
